Changan Automobile Launches Vast Ocean Plan 2.0

Building on the strong achievements of its global “Vast Ocean” initiative, Changan Automobile officially unveiled Vast Ocean Plan 2.0 on 24 April, the opening day of the Beijing auto show.

Guided by four core principles: long-term commitment, localisation, systematisation, and integrated ESG development. Changan is advancing a comprehensive upgrade across seven key dimensions: technology, products, brand, partnership models, investment, services, and talent. The company aims to transition from a product trade-led approach to a fully integrated business model encompassing manufacturing, investment, and services.

Changan is targeting a doubling of its overseas vehicle sales to 1.5 million units by 2030, while striving to rank among the leading global brands in key regional markets, including Europe, Eurasia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa, and Central and South America. 

Technology remains the cornerstone of Changan’s global ambitions. At the auto show, Changan highlighted two major technological advancements underpinning its strategy.

In the field of intelligent systems, “Changan Tianshu Intelligent” has been upgraded into a comprehensive “holistic safety” framework, covering four dimensions: driving, health, psychological wellbeing, and privacy. Changan also announced that from 1 May 2026, all new and updated models equipped with Tianshu Intelligent will come as standard with a “blowout stability control” feature. Supported by a tri-directional, six-domain integrated chassis system, this technology ensures vehicle stability at speeds of up to 225 km/h in the event of a tyre blowout, preventing deviation and side slip.

In terms of powertrain innovation, the “BlueCore Super Hybrid” system represents six years of development and integrates 163 core technologies. Leveraging an AI cloud-based control system and a highly efficient electric drive configuration, the system delivers fuel consumption as low as 2.98 litres per 100 km in urban conditions — achieving “2-litre-class” performance. It also accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h in just 3.59 seconds, while setting new industry benchmarks in start-up refinement, smoothness, and durability, with over 2 million kilometres of reliability validation.

The 2026 Beijing Auto Show marks not only a showcase of Changan’s technological capabilities, but also the starting point of a new phase in its global strategy. With Tianshu Intelligent strengthening its safety foundations, BlueCore Super Hybrid leading low-carbon mobility, and Vast Ocean Plan 2.0 expanding its global footprint, Changan Automobile is steadily advancing towards its ambition of becoming a world-class automotive enterprise, underpinned by systematic capabilities and core technological strength.
