RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
Over the past 15 years since its establishment, Changan UK R&D Centre has built a comprehensive engineering capability across the entire powertrain development cycle, covering the full process from concept design through to validation testing. The centre has delivered multiple engine programmes, including D20, NE1, HE and WE, as well as transmission projects such as DF727, HF640 and HF140. It has also successfully developed platform-based control software, including TCU, PCU and PEU.
These capabilities have been supported by significant long-term investment in advanced engineering facilities, enabling comprehensive testing across conventional powertrains and electrified powertrain systems.
In recent years, as Changan Automobile has expanded its presence in the European market, Changan UK R&D Centre has progressively broadened its scope beyond core powertrain engineering into full vehicle development. This shift reflects a stronger focus on end-to-end vehicle integration, with particular emphasis on localisation and adaptation to meet European market requirements.
