About the Role
As a Senior or Principal Powertrain Integration Engineer, you will play a key role in the calibration and integration of hybrid and pure electric powertrain systems. You will be responsible for leading calibration activities, ensuring optimal performance, energy efficiency, NVH, and driveability. Working with a high level of autonomy within a small team, you will conduct hands-on calibration across various control areas and support chassis and powertrain rig-level tests. Additionally, you will develop core calibration methods for new hybrid and EV powertrain systems, support control system and software integration, and analyse calibration results to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
Degree in Mechanical, Electronics Engineering or an equivalent education
Not less than 8 years of post-graduate experience in the field of Powertrain calibration with OEM or Tier1 supplier
Production level knowledge of developing and calibrating Hybrid powertrain systems, including energy management, automatic transmission control (TCU), Engine control (EMS) and vehicle systems (ABS/ESP)
Extensive knowledge and competences in terms of calibration processes and methodologies
Understanding of Software strategies and Software specifications: familiar with MATLAB Simulink format
Experience in developing vehicle and powertrain control algorithms
Expert working knowledge of automotive calibration tools (ETAS INCA/MDA preferred)
Experienced in vehicle targets cascading to control and calibration
A high level of competence in planning and executing testing activities, analysing data and reporting findings
Able to work under pressure with timing respect
Strong communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to overcome cultural barriers
Good driving record and experience in vehicle driveability assessment
A degree of flexibility and a willingness to occasionally travel abroad for short periods of time
Duties & Responsibilities
Planning and delivering powertrain calibrations in all areas of the software, including calibration version management and according CAUK quality processes
Support other team/department with powertrain integration
Work closely with control and software engineers to optimise overall system performance and hybrid controllers
Lead vehicle powertrain calibration activities, support dyno testing
Documenting and reporting calibration activities, including technical presentation to peers and management
Supporting calibration trips in Europe and China for environment calibration tests

Travel may be required but depends on project requirement
