About the Role
Electric Vehicle (EV) and Test Technician will lead operation of maintenance, diagnostic, repair and instrumentation of Changan development vehicle hazardous voltage systems. This role will encompass both vehicle and test rig based activities.
Requirements
At least 2 years technical experience of working on electric vehicles, especially working with hazardous voltage drive and battery systems. This could be from of work at a vehicle test site, automotive manufacturers or vehicle service centre. Must be qualified to work on electrical systems which could include dealer service training or independent training provider or accredited course.
NVQ Level 3 Motor Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent
Qualification to work on hazardous voltage electric vehicle systems
Worked as an EV/Electrical vehicle technician
Understanding of EV systems including e-machines; Inverters; Batteries; Battery management systems; DCDC; Vehicle Charging
Knowledge of rig control and data acquisition systems of benefit (AVL PUMA, SCP CADET)
Full valid driver’s license
Duties & Responsibilities
Instrumentation of powertrains and vehicles for test, development and diagnostics
Support test rig based testing of component and powertrain systems
Carry out servicing, repairs and vehicle upgrades
Fault finding on the vehicle powertrain and test cell equipment
Obtaining test data and initial analysis and interpretation of test results
Leading testing activities and working closely with project teams
Ownership of data output from test
Day-to-day maintenance and improvement of test cells
Contribute on advanced testing projects including vehicle projects
Work within the restrictions of Electrical Permit to Work systems

Primary location will be at Birmingham Business Park
Travel may be required but depends on project requirement
Must be eligible to work in the UK
