About the Role
Design and develop Software Strategies for Thermal Management of xEVs and EVs. Develop intelligent and Smart Thermal Management Software to improve overall thermal efficiency of electrified powertrain vehicles.
Requirements
Required:
1st class degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline.
8+ years of experience in design systems and software for electrified powertrain control.
Strong knowledge in automotive hardware and software systems.
Expert level understanding of Thermal Management Systems in Vehicles.
Able to innovate and suggest ideas for improving overall thermal efficiency of electrified powertrains.
Able to work with 1-D Simulation models of Thermal management Systems and derive control strategies for Thermal Management Software.
Ability to understand how Data and AI/ML can be used to improve Thermal Management Strategies.
Ability to collaborate well cross-departmentally and with different domains to centralise Thermal Management Functions.
Expert Level knowledge of developing Application Software using MATLAB Simulink Model Based Software Development process.
Expert level knowledge about hosting Thermal Management Software on any domain controller.
Knowledge about control and calibration of HVAC/Climate Control Systems is highly desirable.
Desirable:
Knowledge about implementation of Reduced Order Models of Thermal Systems in Control Units.
Knowledge about Model Predictive Control Techniques for Thermal Management Control Strategy Development.
Knowledge about physics-based modelling of batteries/EDUs highly desirable.
Any exposure to AI/ML based digital twin will be highly advantageous.
Knowledge of low-level control of actuators like pump, valves etc.
Knowledge on Auto SPICE development processes.
Knowledge on Vehicle diagnostics standards and protocols like ISO14229 and UDS.
Familiarity with ISO26262 or equivalent functional safety standards.
Good understanding of automation, continuous integration and DevOps principles and practices.
Duties & Responsibilities
Implement Changan’s first generation in-house Thermal Management Software.
Work with wider departments to centralise control of all Vehicle Thermal Management functions.
Work with BSW team to implement control of low-level actuators for Thermal management Systems.
Work with BSW team to understand Controller Resource and Peripheral Requirements for integrating Thermal Management Software into a host domain controller.
Innovate and Plan evolution of Thermal Management Software to be more “Intelligent” and Smarter” using the power of modelling, user data, AI and ML.
Co-operation with HQ teams to integrate Thermal Management Software into Domain Controller.
Close collaboration with 1-D CAE Modelling team to innovate new and effective Thermal Management Strategy.
Problem investigation and resolution.
Supporting hazard and safety analysis based on ISO26262.
Other Features
Role-based in the UK with core CAUK team. Occasional travel to other CA sites, on development trips and to visit suppliers is a requirement.
