About the Role
Support all mechanical integration development and benchmarking activities
Work closely with colleagues from other departments & develop strong working relationships
To diagnose faults and troubleshoot issues faced during development tests
Process and analyse large datasets and draw concise & informed conclusions
Write and present high-quality reports both internally and externally
Develop new and existing test processes procedures and methodologies based on sound scientific principles
Requirements
Degree in Mechanical, Electronics Engineering or an equivalent education
Not less than 5 years of post-graduate experience in the field of powertrain with OEM or Tier1 supplier or consultancy
Experience working with automotive hybrid powertrains systems and components
Experience of working with and knowledge of both mechanical and electrical automotive systems
Background in automotive analysis or development environments
Experience in engine performance, economy & emissions
Knowledge and understanding of vehicle attribute engineering
Expert knowledge of Instrumentation, sensors, and data acquisition equipment
Expert working knowledge of automotive calibration & data acquisition tools (ETAS INCA/MDA preferred).
Experience of managing projects, planning, executing, and undertaking responsibility for project activities (preferred)
Ability to work in team and under pressure with timing respect
Strong communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to write and present high quality reports to a varied audience. Ability to overcome cultural barriers
Good driving record and experience in vehicle driveability assessment
A degree of flexibility and a willingness to travel abroad for short periods of time
Duties & Responsibilities
Plan and carry out development and benchmarking activities with a high degree of autonomy
Support and collaborate with colleagues from other departments & develop strong working relationships across the business
Lead vehicle powertrain integration activities, support vehicle & dyno testing
Write and present high-quality reports to a varied audience
Supporting testing trips in Europe and China for environment calibration tests
Develop new and existing test processes procedures and methodologies based on sound scientific principles
Generate and quantify relevant vehicle attributes to improve vehicle performance, fuel economy and refinement
