Changan is undergoing a major transformation to electrify the powertrains of our passenger car business. The UK R&D Centre is at the forefront of this work to develop the future generation of electrified, connected, and intelligent powertrains. We are looking for an experienced e-drive and power electronics controls engineer to join us to lead our work in this area.

As a proven professional you will be required to provide strategic analysis on the regulations in all markets that Changan plan to operate and report status on regular basis.

Lead role in the calibration activities on Hybrid and pure electric powertrain projects
Able to work with high level of autonomy on different subjects within a small team
Hands-on calibration activities in all areas of the control and support chassis and powertrain rig level tests
Lead calibration process to meet project deliverables. Apply methodical and pragmatic approach to balance performance, energy consumption, NVH and driveability attributes
Develop core calibration methods for new hybrid/EV powertrain systems
Support control system and software in powertrain systems integration. Analyse calibration results to identify improvements and generate engineering change requests

As the Senior or Principal Engineer in the Vehicle Supervisory Management Software team, a major and integral part of your role will be ensuring the successful delivery of our Powertrain & Vehicle control software, covering both platform and applications for different Powertrain Architectures (DHT, REEV, BEV). You will also support designing new control system strategies with smart technologies in topics like Thermal Management, 4WD Torque Split Strategy, Energy Management, Predictive Features etc and leading the team to deliver software based on those. This role will require you to work with the wider cross-functional teams to develop a good understanding of various powertrain technologies and, to communicate clearly with non-software domain engineers.
