Overview of Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Trainer to lead the setup of automotive technician training programmes in the UK.
Reporting to the Technical Service Manager, the role requires a hands-on approach as we scale the business from the ground up. As the technical trainer, you’ll have the unique opportunity to use your experience in developing content and delivering training programmes to internal NSC and external dealer staff on the latest vehicle launch inductions, new technologies and repair techniques. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering training programs, evaluating trainee performance, and ensuring our automotive technicians are up-to-date on new tools, equipment, and best practices in the industry.
This will be aligned with and supported by the teams in Europe and China and delivered to the same outstanding levels as the Changan product.
The role will be based at our NSC in Birmingham.
Requirements
Proven work experience as an Automotive Master Technician or similar role
Certification from a technical school and/or experience in creating and implementing technical training programmes
Extensive knowledge of modern automotive technologies and repair methods
Strong communication and presentation skills
Ability to effectively transfer knowledge and skills to others
Physical stamina and manual dexterity
Systems experience of Excel, Microsoft Office, SAP
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships
Agility and flexibility
Self-motivation, demonstrate initiative and enthusiasm
Excellent communication skills – both written & verbal
Ability to deal with high pressure situations
Commitment to getting the job done by fixed deadlines
Possess passion for technology and digitilisation in the automotive industry
Duties & Responsibilities
Designing and implementing training programmes in line with industry standards and regulations
Teaching about the inspection and repair of various automotive systems, such as engines, brakes, and air-conditioning systems
Best practices on both BEV and ICE vehicle architectures
Demonstrating the use of different tools and equipment used in automotive repair and maintenance
Providing practical instruction on diagnostic techniques and the proper usage of diagnostic equipment
Monitoring and evaluating trainee performance and progress, providing feedback as necessary
Staying updated on the latest developments in the automotive industry and integrating these into the training curriculum
Assisting trainees in preparing for certification exams in the automotive field
Ensuring all training activities adhere to safety standards and regulations
Working with global teams to develop and maintain training materials and manuals
