The Experience & Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years relevant working experience

- Has proven experience of defining and influencing business technology strategy
- Has an proven Electronic Controller & Electric Drive Systems (EDS) Technical leadership background, technical strategy / roadmap development and delivery experience considering areas such as :
- Technical expertise of Electronic Hardware Controllers, ideally multi-function

Job Purpose
As a Functional Safety Engineer, you will follow the entire development from high level analysis of hazards, through to developing the safety requirements of our products. You will work with our internal software engineers and external suppliers to develop safe hardware and software systems and provide the best performance for our customers. The work will continue through to the integration phase, which will involve validating the powertrain systems through rigorous testing activities.

Job Purpose
Changan is undergoing a major transformation to electrify the powertrains of our passenger car business. The UK R&D Centre is at the forefront of this work to develop the future generation of electrified, connected, and intelligent powertrains. We are looking for an experienced power electronics hardware engineer to join us to lead our work in this area.
Person Specification
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical / Electronics Engineering
- 5+ years’ experience working on the specification and design of power electronic hardware systems
- Knowledge of power electronic devices, including silicon based IGBTs and MOSFETs through to emerging SiC / GaN based technologies: gate driver, control architecture and measurement circuits, selection/characterisation of devices for inverter
- Knowledge of PMSM and/or BLDC machines is essential.
- Knowledge of DC/DC , AC/DC ,DC/AC converters and battery charger applications would be advantageous
