Description
Job Purpose
- Calibration methodologies to support development and decision’s making process for research and production hybrid and pure electric powertrain technologies (e.g. P2, P13, REEV, BEV etc.).
- Calibration and development of software functions for existing and innovative hybrid powertrains.
- Development and support for tests and automation of 5E Powertrain rig (test matrix, test supervision, test results and correlation).
- Use and development of tools using MATLAB platform for data collection, analysis, fitting and calibration file generation with the goal to improve quality and efficiency of calibration process.
- Understanding of physical phenomena behind to assess data quality and interpret the results to address the analysis direction.
Person Specification
- Degree in engineering qualified or above.
- At least 3 years of experience in calibration and/or methodology within other OEMs or Tier1 consultancy.
- Very strong understanding of data acquisition and data analysis process.
- Expert level working knowledge of Matlab, MS Office, object-oriented coding.
- Good level working knowledge of ETAS INCA/MDA, Simulink, CAN based tools.
- Understanding of Engine and/or Transmission and/or Hybrid system control strategies.
- Ability to prioritise, able to work under pressure with timing respect.
- Open to overtake cultural barriers.

Description
Job Purpose
- Lead role in the calibration activities on Hybrid and pure electric powertrain projects.
- Able to work with high level of autonomy on different subjects within a small team.
- Hands-on calibration activities in all areas of the control and support chassis and powertrain rig level tests.
- Lead calibration process to meet project deliverables. Apply methodical and pragmatic approach to balance performance, energy consumption, NVH and driveability attributes.
- Develop core calibration methods for new hybrid/EV powertrain systems.
- Support control system and software in powertrain systems integration. Analyse calibration results to identify improvements and generate engineering change requests.
Person Specification
- Degree in Mechanical, Electronics Engineering or an equivalent education.
- Not less than 8 years of post-graduate experience in the field of Powertrain calibration with OEM or Tier1 supplier.
- Production level knowledge of developing and calibrating Hybrid powertrain systems, including energy management, automatic transmission control (TCU), Engine control (EMS) and vehicle systems (ABS/ESP).
- Extensive knowledge and competences in terms of calibration processes and methodologies.
- Understanding of Software strategies and Software specifications: familiar with MATLAB Simulink format.
- Experience in developing vehicle and powertrain control algorithms.
- Expert working knowledge of automotive calibration tools (ETAS INCA/MDA preferred).

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Planning and delivering powertrain calibrations in all areas of the software, including calibration version management and according CAUK quality processes.

- Documenting and reporting calibration activities, including technical presentation to peers and management.
