Senior Engineer – Base Gasoline Engine Calibration

Description :

Job Purpose

  • Carry out gasoline engine dyno calibration tests and activities, including test bed instrumentation set up, coordinate the equipment required such as measurement devices, exhaust system, engine sensors.
  • Perform Engine dyno data acquisition, test definition using DOE optimization.
  • Calibration of assigned functions and components using data analysis and post processing toolbox in respect of the overall system optimization. Create and exchange calibration dataset.
  • Carry out functional test and fault analysis on engine components and EMS software on dyno and vehicle.
  • Support of calibration activities in different environment test conditions in the UK and in China might be requested.

Personal Specification

  • Degree qualified or similar.
  • Certain years of experience in dyno engine calibration with OEM or consultancy.
  • Very good understanding of gasoline engines combustion principles, EMS control strategies and Sw specifications. Bosch/UAES experience desirable.
  • Expert level working knowledge of ETAS INCA toolset. Matlab experience desirable.
  • Ability to prioritise, able to work for discontinuity.
  • Open to overtake cultural barriers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work within a small growing team to deliver engine calibration.
  • Document and report calibration work 
  • Support the calibration activities and testing in the UK and China.
  • Management of calibration tools and kits available in the team.
