Job Purpose

Lead and deliver projects for CAUK and support the programme management team to develop efficient and effective programme management processes.

Personal Specification

  • Degree qualified, from an engineering or science related background
  • Relevant project or programme management experience, in an automotive or engineering industry
  • Highly motivated, organised and approachable person
  • Ability to lead and motivate cross functional engineering teams with an enthusiasm and passion to successfully deliver projects to meet the performance objectives
  • Strong numeracy, literacy and logic with great communication, interpersonal and people skills
  • Generate continuous improvement ideas to develop the project management processes and procedures
  • Experience of working in an engineering project environment
  • Experience of working with a Lean Product Development Process and an understanding of the lean principles
  • Experience of working through the full life cycle from concept to launch of a new product introduction
  • Experience of, and an ability to overcome, international cultural differences in projects and achieve successful team working

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leading and managing CAUK projects; project planning and reporting, forecasting and tracking spend against budgets, resource planning, risk and change management, focal point for the projects and communications
  • Leading and coordinating the activities of the CAUK cross-functional project teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Act as primary point of contact for the project and the CAUK projects leader
  • Coordinate and lead project reviews and communications
  • Managing and communicating with the project stakeholders
  • Production of project status and progress reports, presentations and briefings to project stakeholders and headquarters
  • Coordinating and liaising with the purchasing and manufacturing teams to support development of the project cost model, manufacturing strategy and project hardware requirements
  • Coordinate and manage the project supply base to ensure quality of design, manufacture and test of the hardware for the projects
  • Lead project handover to Changan headquarters of all the relevant technical and project documents such as the PDS, DVP, BOM, drawings, analysis reports, test standards, test reports etc.
  • Generate and lead continuous improvement activities to develop and evolve the project management processes and procedures
