Job Purpose

Reporting to the Powertrain Test - Team Leader, as a proven professional you will be required to deliver powertrain testing within a new state-of-the-art Powertrain Test Centre on gasoline engines, transmissions and e-motors.

Personal Specification

  • An apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in Powertrain testing & assembly, disassembly of Powertrain systems
  • Experience of electrical prototype systems & wiring harness modification and/or rectification
  • Experience of fitting & removing instrumentation would be an advantage
  • Experience of fabricating and operating rigs & fixtures would be an advantage
  • Experience of operating engine test cells would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of current motor vehicle technology
  • Computer literate including Microsoft Office
  • Strong hands-on ability with can do attitude
  • Good communication and persuasion skills at all levels

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assembly/strip of Powertrain systems & components
  • Installation and removal of Powertrain systems & components from vehicles
  • Electrical system installation and repairs
  • Instrumentation fitment onto powertrains
  • Installations of powertrain components into test cells
  • Operation of the engine test cells
