Job Purpose

Develop simulation environment and plant models for all Powertrain Control system projects

Personal Specification

  • 1st degree or equivalent in automotive, electrical/electronic, mechanical or control engineering.
  • Certain years relevant experience in an automotive environment
  • Maintaining and developing strong numeracy and literacy skills
  • Good logical reasoning and problem investigation/resolution
  • Proven experience of developing complex simulation models.
  • Proven experience of developing plant models for control system co-simulation.
  • Good understanding of modelling at different levels of fidelity and the appropriate use of simulation during the development lifecycle.
  • Good overall understanding of full Control System development lifecycle would be an advantage.
  • Experience of design and implementation of automotive powertrain simulation models would be a distinct advantage but equivalent experience in aerospace or other industries will be considered.
  • Preferred working knowledge of Mathworks toolset and GT Suite but will consider equivalent experience in other toolsets.
  • Experience of Model Based System Engineering would be an advantage
  • Ability to work in cross functional teams.
  • Proven ability to overcome cultural barriers
  • Full UK driving license

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop requirement specifications, design, implementation, integration and test of control system simulation models.
  • Work closely with Control System and Control Software teams to ensure delivery of complete system.
  • Be a practitioner and promoter of advanced simulation techniques
  • Support system robustness, diagnostics and functional safety development and analysis at a simulation level.

Other Features of job

  • Part of small team integrated with a larger multifunctional product team which is responsible for delivering complex projects
  • Role based in the UK. Occasional travel to other CA sites and to visit suppliers is a requirement.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK
