Job Purpose

  • Reporting to the Estate and Safety Manager, as a proven professional you will be required to manage and deliver facility management and the health, safety and environment function for the business. The company’s facilities range from rented office space to state-of-the–art powertrain test facilities.
  • The business is undergoing significant development, as a result you will need to be able to demonstrate proven experience and knowledge in buildings, contractor management and Health and Safety.

Personal Specification

  • Knowledge of managing facility PPM, including HVAC, electrical, fire and security
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation and practice, preferably hold NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Risk Assessments & Method Statements
  • Comprehensive knowledge of managing contractors
  • Strong hands-on ability with can do attitude
  • Good communication and persuasion skills at all levels
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage maintenance services across the company
  • Ensure that CAUK complies with all relevant H&S legislation including providing advice to the business on statutory compliance and best practice
  • Improving CAUK H&S management systems by generating and maintaining H&S policies and procedures, to cater for specific engineering requirements
  • Audit company H&S performance and issue formal reports, recommending corrective/appropriate actions
  • Organise formal H&S meetings, producing minutes from and follow-up with action plans with responsible owners identified
  • Ensure all fire safety measures (fire marshals, alarm testing, extinguishers checks and fire audits) are maintained and implemented on all sites
  • Assisting when required in the preparation of risk assessments and method statements in conjunction with management and sub-contractors
  • Assist in planning, installation and commissioning of new powertrain test facility
  • Review new products, equipment and processes for potential hazards and recommend modifications before introduction
  • Support other facility and operation matters at BBP

Package : £20-25/hour, negotiable depending on background and experience
