Description :

Job Purpose:

 Specification and Development of the electrical/electronic hardware for vehicle powertrain and transmission applications.

Personal Specification:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Certain years post graduate experience and at least certain years relevant automotive system integration experience
  • Maintaining and developing strong numeracy and literacy skills
  • Good logical reasoning
  • Motivation to learn new technologies and employ systems engineering techniques
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work within a team
  • Experience in the implementation of electrical distribution systems (EDS)
  • Experience in Circuit and harness development tools (VeSys 2.0 training will be provided)
  • Experience of CAN development and integration
  • Experience in using CANAlyser or similar network analysis software
  • Experience of Sub-System requirement development and verification.
  • Experience of prototype and production environments
  • Experience in both Low and Hazardous voltage automotive systems
  • Experience of vehicle electrical systems
  • Experience in electrical/electronic hardware supplier management

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of the wiring systems to support engine and transmission test and development plans
  • Lead the integration of engine and transmission electrical sub systems in prototype vehicles
  • Develop electrical hardware requirements specifications
  • Lead the electrical hardware DFMEA process
  • Develop the electrical hardware DV Plan
  • Support the electrical hardware DV testing
  • Lead the electro-mechanical integration in the physical environment
  • Support in the development of departmental process and procedure
