Description :

Changan UK R&D Centre - based in Nottingham is currently recruiting for an Chief Engineer - Control Systems and Software. This is an exciting career opportunity within a growing, large international car manufacturer.

 

Core Requirements

 

  • Degree qualified or similar qualification 

  • Strongnumeracy and literacy 

  • A minimum of fifteen years experience is essential and preferably some of this will be in automotive

  • Good logical reasoning

  • Capable of leading the Electronic Control Systems and Software Design aspects of multiple Powertrain projects

  • Demonstrates depth of knowledge in Electronic Control Systems including Model Driven approaches to analysis and design.

  • Experience of developing complex Software Intensive Systems of Systems. Ideally will have operated as technical lead or systems architect on such projects.

  • Experience of applying SysML would be a distinct advantage

  • Will already be chartered or working towards chartered status

  • Able to inspire team to strive for improvements and high customer service

  • Evidence of achieving results through effective leadership of team

  • Able to translate business plan into individual objectives for staff

  • Capable of managing multiple teams of engineers and leads the delivery of the performance objectives of their group

 

Main Activities/tasks:

 

  • Technical leader and manager for the Systems and Software Design of electronic control systems across all CAUK projects.

  • Lead all aspects of Electronic Control Systems and Software Design, including:

    • System Requirements engineeringPowertrain control systems architecture

    • Adoption of world leading techniques for design of complex Electronic Control Systems and Software Intensive Systems of Systems

    • Supplier management for Electronic Control Systems Design across all CAUK projects

    • Key member of team (along with PCE Chief and other functional leads in PCE department) in development of company Powertrain Control strategy

    • Management and training of CAUK Electronic Control Systems Design team.

    • Management and training of CAHQ exchange staff as required. 

 

Other Features of job

 

  •  Role basedd in UK with core CAUK team.
  • Occasional travel to other CA site and suppliers is a requirement
  • Candidates applying for the role must be eligible to work within the UK
